Elsea Park Update

There have been some exciting developments in recent weeks in our plans for the opening of our new academy on Elsea Park.

Those children joining the school in Reception in September have been offered their places through Lincolnshire County Council’s co-ordinated admissions scheme.  Parents/carers have been invited to a welcome meeting to be held at The Centre, Elsea Park and arrangements are already in place for transition sessions for the children to get to know each other and the staff.    Mrs Cherry Edwards, Head teacher said “We are so thrilled to now have a body of parents and children for our first, very special, Reception class.  We look forward to working in partnership with our parent body over the coming weeks and months as we move towards a successful opening

Parents/ carers were asked to vote for their preferred choice of uniform colour via an on-line poll on the academy website.  We are delighted to formally announce that the uniform will be red and grey.  Uniform samples are being prepared as we go to press.  Mrs Janet Crook, Senior Deputy Head commented, “It was extremely important to us that parents/carers had a voice in choosing the colour of our uniform.  Not only is red incredibly smart, it will help to give Elsea Park Academy its own vibrant identity.  It is also a colour that will mean that items without the academy logo will be readily available from affordable outlets.”

We reported in a previous edition that we had chosen our logo/badge and work has been completed to translate that into a digital version as well as an embroidered crest to appear on the school uniform. Our competition winner, Mrs Nikki Proud, who is herself a new parent of the school, said “The logo looks amazing, I love it!”

Other developments have included the appointment of Teaching Assistant and receptionist/administrators; initial plans in place for the burying of a time capsule (more details to follow) and of course huge strides in the construction of the building – you can see the latest photos on the website.
