Academy Update...

AAT LogoOn behalf of the governing body I wish to confirm that Bourne Elsea Park Church of England Primary Academy is well and truly open. Today was an historic day in the life of the new school and saw the first intake of pupils into Reception and Key Stage 1.

I can also confirm that both Bourne Elsea Park C of E Primary Academy and Bourne Abbey C of E Primary Academy are now run by Abbey Academies Trust. The link of both schools to the Abbey Church provided us with an easy choice when choosing the trust name. This name change took formal effect from 1st September 2014. The Trust employs all staff irrespective of which academy they work at, and will also own the land and enter into contracts on behalf of both academies. Letters to parents and carers of pupils at each academy will be sent on letterhead relevant to the appropriate academy but with reference to both academies being part of Abbey Academies Trust.

This month we will be holding an election to appoint a parent from Elsea Park to join the governing body. Further details will follow but in the meantime can I stress the importance of all candidates setting out in their personal statement, details of the skills they could bring to the governing body. This will ensure that other parents can make an informed choice and decision when voting.

We see this as a very exciting time in the development of education in Bourne, Mrs Edwards and staff look forward to providing an outstanding education for our pupils at Bourne Elsea Park.
