Tree Planting!

Tree planting in the parkTree Planting with ‘The Centre @ Elsea Park’

The Centre invited the pupils from Bourne Elsea Park C of E Primary Academy to help them plant trees in Setts Green, Elsea Park. The Centre had received a pack of over 100 trees from The Woodland Trust.

All of the pupils from Bourne Elsea Park Academy were able to plant a tree which included Rowan, Oak and Silver Birch species. The Reception and Key Stage One pupils were so excited about the opportunity to plant their own tree that they will to be able to observe as it grows over the years.

One pupil commented “I wonder if my tree will be bigger than me when I leave Elsea Park Primary School?” The Centre grounds man, Peter Ellis, spoke to the children and gave a demonstration on how to plant their own tree. Back at school the children learnt about the benefits of tree planting including; providing a habitat and food for wildlife and improving the environment for us all.
