Pigeon's Farm

Recently the Reception class visited Pigeon’s Farm, Thorney.  The morning began with the children being able to pet some very cute animals including chicks and guinea pigs.

Both adults and children thoroughly enjoyed the magical experience of bottle feeding the adorable new Spring lambs.  The bumpy tractor ride around the farm was rather breezy, but the children loved every minute of it.  During the day some of the children were even privileged to see the miracle of a calf being born.

The egg-citing day concluded with the children all helping Farmer Bob collect the eggs from the hen house.   Back in class the children have continued their learning by writing recounts of their trip, creating chick pictures and sequencing the life cycle of a hen.
