Library Opening

We have had some amazing support to build and set up our new library, ranging from Mrs Moore’s vision, to brilliant support financially from our wonderful Governors, to visits to existing libraries, to fantastic support in ordering books from Nottinghamshire Library Service and Peters Books, to wonderful artwork from both Chris Green in terms of the walls of the library and the Year Six artists in terms of their contributions on canvas, to the tireless Mrs Holder, for adding all the books to our school database, to the magnificent, unique Brian Watts, who built the interior of the library. We now really have a library to be proud of, and one which definitely has the ‘Wow Factor’!

Over the next couple of weeks, your children will be getting to know our new library, and will have the opportunity to start checking out and returning books, during their library sessions. They will also have the opportunity to read in the library during lunchtime, where they can return books, but will only be able to take books home during sessions with the class teacher.

We currently have nearly 3,000 books in our library database and will be adding books all the time, and are always on the lookout for good quality new or nearly-new books. I’m sure you’re all as excited as we are about this fantastic new opportunity, and are looking forward to working with us to inspire your children’s reading both now and in the years to come!
