Bag 2 School

Children, staff and parents from Bourne Elsea Park C of E Primary Academy took part in the Bag 2 School programme on Thursday 18th November. The Eco Warriors at school organised a collection and everybody got on board bringing in bags full of old clothes, shoes and linen.

All classes were full of enthusiasm in the hopes of winning a non-uniform day for collecting the most amount of bags but Reception class were crowned the winners, collecting 25 bags.  As a school they managed to collect 118 bags in total, preventing these from filling up a land fill site, raising £164 for the school and helping those less fortunate in other countries. A brilliant success!

When the Bag 2 School van arrived, the Eco Warriors were fantastic at helping to load all the bags into the van and are excited to spend the money raised in school.

Miss Worrall (Eco Schools Co-ordinator) explained ‘this was a brilliant event to help raise the awareness of the importance of reusing and recycling and prevented lots of items of clothing from ending up in a land fill site. We look forward to completing another collection later on this academic year and continuing our Eco Schools journey. We would like to thank all the parents and carers who donated clothes and helped to make this a great success!’
