Safer Internet Day

Bourne Elsea Park focused on E-safety with National Safer Internet day on Tuesday 9th February. Throughout the school everyone has been participating in engaging and exciting lessons that have helped the children become more aware of online safety. The theme this year was ‘Play your part for a better internet’ which helped celebrate and respond to differences online.

In Reception, the children have discussed how to keep safe and thought about their safe hand of 5 people who they can talk to if they have any problems. Within Year 1, the children watched a film clip before discussing online bullying and they reflected carefully on how the children might feel and what they could do if it happens to them. In Year 3, they developed their E-Safety knowledge thinking carefully about what they need to do to stay safe online relating to the SMART rules and other ways to help them keep safe online. Finally, in Year 4, they linked E-Safety to the creation of the Magna Carta and created their very own digital Magna Carta. They used the SMART rules as a guidance and created their own E-Safety rules list make the internet better.
